I want to thank you for your support during my campaign for State Representative District 120 for primary election on March 1, 2016.
While the outcome was disappointing, I am proud of my dedicated and hard-working campaign staff and volunteers and our positive, issues-based campaign. Just 10,194 of the approximately 177,000 registered voters in District 120 voted, approximately 5.8%. Despite my qualifications and fundraising efforts, name recognition and the long tenure in the district of other candidates proved to be the difference in the race along with a crowded field of six candidates.
I learned a lot of lessons from this race, and in the end, the voters of District 120 have spoken. I remain committed to efforts to improve District 120 and our entire community, and your support has encouraged me in this and future endeavors, whether it be public office or as a private citizen.
Thank you again for your belief in me – who I am and our shared values. Your encouragement will always be remembered!
